Materials,
with definitions.
Read a label by its parts: what an item is made from, how it is assembled and how it should be used.
Wax and the making record
A small pour belongs to one making record. Record the actual wax composition, supplier, wick, vessel and checks. Any cure period should follow the material process and verified recipe.
Paper and packaging
A sleeve starts with a measured sheet. Its paper grain affects the fold. Record the paper specification and dimensions; do not claim recyclability without checking the full packaging and local guidance.
Material definitions
- Small pour
- A limited quantity poured together using one recorded formula and process. Batch size alone does not describe quality or safety. Return to small pour
- Cure
- The resting period specified for a material after making, before it is ready for its intended use. The required time depends on the verified formula. Return to cure
- Paper grain
- The direction in which most fibers lie in a sheet. Folding along the grain generally makes a cleaner crease. Return to paper grain
