From a room brief to a room plan.

A sample process with a clear handover at each step. Agree the real scope and responsibilities in your proposal.

Begin

Describe the day in the room.

List the activities, the people using the space and the times of day that matter. Note glare, awkward furniture routes and pieces that need to stay.

You provide: measurements, photos, a keep list and the intended budget. The planner provides: a written brief for your review.

Explore

Test a relationship, then an arrangement.

Use a concept plan to see how a change in one element affects nearby activities. The diagram below isolates just one variable: beam angle.

Where does the light fall?

Adjust the beam angle to explore how its footprint intersects three room zones.

Illustrative geometry only. This is not a lux estimate or an installation recommendation.

Develop

Check scale and compare options.

Review furniture footprints and lighting layers together. A sample review could compare two arrangements, record the reasons for the selected one, and agree any revisions before detailed work.

You review: how the option supports daily use. The planner records: the chosen layout, unresolved questions and the next agreed deliverable.

Handover

Leave with a usable set of notes.

The final package should state exactly what was agreed: annotated layout, selected ideas, dimensions to verify and items requiring specialist input. Record what the package does not include.

Product suitability, electrical work and installation need appropriate professional checks. The diagram and sample room images on this site do not replace them.
