Selection services.

Material consultation

Bring photographs, a plan and your priorities. Compare a focused selection of stone, tile, wood, glass or metal for the surfaces in your project.

Take away: a shortlist of finishes and questions to confirm with suppliers.

Palette development

Review adjacent materials together: floor to wall, cabinet to worktop, glazing to metalwork. Consider tone, texture, reflectivity and the parts you touch.

Take away: a material palette with unresolved choices clearly noted.

Finish schedule

Record chosen products, finishes, dimensions and supplier references in one place for discussion with your project team.

Take away: a selection record. Site measurement, technical specification and installation are separate responsibilities.

Check a digital
color pairing.

Two swatches. One text contrast ratio. Useful for digital signs or palette labels; this does not predict physical lighting or material appearance.

Small text needs contrast, too.

WCAG AA uses at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (24px regular or about 18.7px bold).

Calculated reference pairs

Black on white
21.00:1 — normal and large text
Reading ink on olive
11.05:1 — normal and large text
White on olive
1.65:1 — insufficient for either size
How the ratio is calculated

Each sRGB channel is divided by 255, then linearized: values at or below 0.04045 are divided by 12.92; otherwise ((value + 0.055) / 1.055) is raised to 2.4. Relative luminance is 0.2126R + 0.7152G + 0.0722B. Contrast is (lighter + 0.05) / (darker + 0.05). This tool compares digital colors only.
