Words first.
Paper second.
A practical brief makes the first conversation more useful. Keep one approved version of the wording and name the person who can sign off changes.
A brief worth
bringing.
- People: names, preferred spelling and who approves the final proof.
- Place: address, entrance, access requirements and delivery restrictions.
- Timing: event date, arrival time, reply deadline and when printed pieces are needed.
- Quantity: count households for invitations, people for place names, and allow for agreed spares.
- Materials: budget range, paper preferences, floral palette and anything to avoid.
Why is page 8
next to page 1?
A folded booklet is printed out of reading order. Choose 4, 8 or 12 pages to see the permutation on each nested sheet. Each rectangle below is one upright face of a landscape sheet, with a vertical fold down its middle.

Read the faces, then make a paper dummy.
- View each front and back face upright, as two separate views. All page tops point to the top of their face.
- Print landscape with duplex short-edge flipping as a starting setting. Printer drivers differ: test one sheet before a full run.
- Nest sheet 2 inside sheet 1, then sheet 3 inside sheet 2 when present. Fold all sheets together on the vertical center, with page 1 on the front cover.
- Check that pages run in order and every top points upward. Confirm trim, bleed, paper grain and binding with your printer; this diagram is a page-order guide, not a press-ready file.

Show the work
you actually make.
This is the buyer’s instructional slot for a real production photograph. A useful image shows the approved pieces in context and enough detail to understand scale.
Add a truthful caption stating what you made. Ask the client and photographer for permission before publishing, and avoid including private addresses or guest information.
Replace with your own work photograph.
Suggested dimensions: 1200 × 900 pixels.
Caption: Sample slot: add your own verified details.. Use your own photos, not stock people. Obtain permission from everyone shown.
Before you
approve.
Read names and dates independently of the design. Check phone numbers and reply links on another device. Print a proof at actual size and inspect the smallest text in ordinary room lighting. Agree how corrections after approval are handled before production begins.
