Observe the moment
before the turn.
Walk the agreed route with a willing first-time visitor. Notice where they pause, what they can see and the question they ask before deciding where to go.
Your contribution plan
- Confirm the host-approved route and the visitor’s willingness to take part.
- Ask the visitor to describe where they would go; do not point out the answer.
- Record the place, their words and what happened. Keep your interpretation in a separate note.
Prepare
Bring a way to record short notes. Agree a pause or seated alternative and any language support before starting. No photographs are needed for this role.
Keep the boundary
You are recording an experience, not assessing legal accessibility or certifying a safe route. Stop and return concerns to the facilitator or host.
The evidence question you carry
Where does a first-time visitor hesitate?
Inspect or change the open questionChoosing a role records an interest only. The actual activity, support, consent and responsibilities need agreement with the real project organizer.
