Small, guided sessions
Illustrative groups of up to eight learners, with time to try, compare and change an idea.
Bring your questions
Core materials are included in the sample course fee. Wear clothes that can meet glue and pencil marks.

One example from the balance cabinet. Make a prediction, then compare it with the illustrated result.
Which way will it tip?
Imagine a weightless beam and equal mass units. Put two units one step left of the pivot and one unit two steps right. Predict what happens when you let go.
Authored ideal-model diagram. A fictional learning example, with friction and beam mass omitted.
Without JavaScript, choose a prediction and compare it with the explanation below.
Outcome: it stays balanced
The level beam in the diagram shows the outcome. Left: 2 × 1 = 2. Right: 1 × 2 = 2. Each side has the same turning effect about the pivot.
A real model may differ because the beam has mass and the pivot has friction. That difference is something to investigate.
A useful way
to be unsure.
Make a prediction
Say what you think will happen and why. A sketch is enough.
Change one thing
Keep the rest steady so the effect is easier to notice.
Compare what happened
Record the result, discuss differences and decide what to try next.
Bring us a question.
Tell the organizer the learner’s age range, interests and preferred session. Please leave personal learner details out of your first email.
