THE
WORKSHOP

READ THE PRINT.
CHOOSE THE NEXT MOVE.

One proof can tell you where to look next. Select a feature, compare it with the paper, and record one change for your next pull.

The complete cream paper sheet with a green semicircle print; pale gaps are visible within the ink, especially toward the upper right
The circle points to pale gaps in the printed area.Qualitative guides on generated demonstration artwork. No measurements or automatic diagnosis.

The green is interrupted.

Small white gaps show through the printed shape, especially toward the upper right. The image alone cannot tell us whether ink coverage, pressure or paper caused them.

Change one thing.

Keep the plate and paper choice the same so your next comparison has a clear purpose.

Roll a more even ink film; keep the paper and pressure the same.

How this proof was made: ink → align → press → reveal
  1. Green ink on the roller and raised foam plate

    Ink

Work a thin film on the slab and roll it onto the raised semicircle.

  2. Paper registration corner beside the plate

    Align

Use the corner to position the sheet, then lower it without sliding.

  3. Spoon resting on the back of the paper over the printing plate

    Press

Work consistent pressure through the paper across the whole shape.

  4. The finished semicircle proof beside the matching plate

    Reveal

Lift from an edge, lay the sheet flat and read the result before repeating.
