Questions before you call
Can you review a proposed wall opening?
Call to discuss the property and proposed work. Records and a site visit may be needed before a scope can be agreed.
Is a visual visit a safety certification?
No. A visual visit is limited to accessible conditions and the agreed scope. It does not establish that every condition is safe.
What records should I gather?
Ask about existing drawings, prior alterations and management requirements. Share documents only through an agreed method.
Do you open walls during a visit?
Destructive investigation is not assumed. Any openings, access or separate contractor work must be agreed in advance.
Can you provide signed drawings?
Ask whether the required drawings and applicable professional authorization are included in the proposal.
Will you coordinate with my design team?
Coordination can be included. The written scope identifies the team members and responsibilities.
What if there is an urgent danger?
For an immediate threat to life or a building emergency, leave the affected area and contact emergency services. Do not wait for an email reply.
How much will a review cost?
The fee depends on access, records, analysis and deliverables. Ask for a written proposal.
When will I receive the report?
The proposal sets an estimated delivery schedule, subject to access and any additional investigation.
