The route starts with listening.
Use the introduction to agree how a visit should work, who is responsible for each detail, and what happens when something changes.
At the introduction.
Follow the familiar route. Point out entrances, crossings, and the places your dog knows. Describe what you would like the walker to avoid.
Check the equipment together. Show where the lead, waste bags, towel, and water bowl are kept. Confirm how each item is used.
Agree the handover. Decide how arrival and departure are recorded, how access is handled, and where the visit note goes.
What a useful note includes.
Sample note structure
This is a writing guide, not a record of an actual customer visit.
- Arrival and departure time
- Route taken and any change from the plan
- Agreed household tasks completed
- Anything the owner needs to follow up
Keep notes factual. If something unexpected happens, use the contact arrangement agreed with the owner rather than relying on a note alone.
Show the actual work.
Owner editing instructions: replace this reserved space with a real visit or route photograph that you have permission to publish. Do not use generated art as evidence of actual work.

Use your own photos, not stock people. Obtain permission from everyone shown and permission to show the pet and location.
An agreement you can refer to.
A written agreement should set out the service scope, fees, cancellations, access arrangements, and emergency contacts. Review it whenever the routine changes.
