Mend &
make do.

A patient afternoon for one small repair.

Saturday24 October14:00–16:00

What we’ll do

Start by looking together at the thing you’ve brought. We’ll discuss whether a small hand-sewn patch or a simple darn is a sensible next step. A host will show the motions on a scrap, then stay nearby while people try at their own pace. Watching is a complete way to take part.

The shape of the gathering

  1. 14:00 · Arrive and settle. Find a place, meet the host and show your item if you brought one.
  2. 14:20 · A shared demonstration. Follow a simple patch on a scrap before working on anything treasured.
  3. 14:40 · Make time. Practice, ask a question or watch someone else’s process.
  4. 15:45 · Finish together. Put tools away and decide on a manageable next step.

Bring / leave at home

Bring one clean textile item, your glasses if you use them, and any matching thread you already have. Scrap fabric and basic hand tools are part of this fictional session. Leave electrical items, structural repairs and irreplaceable heirlooms at home; this is a shared practice session, not a guaranteed repair service.
