Questions before class

Must my child know the rules already?

Ask which group teaches the rules from the beginning. Placement uses 7 to 14 and beginner, intermediate and tournament.

Are boards and clocks supplied?

The club supplies a full set of pieces for each player. Confirm what to bring before the first meeting.

Are games rated?

Meeting and event format: coached lessons, casual play and rated events. Ask whether an event is rated and whether a separate membership or entry fee is needed.

Can adults join too?

Adult and family attendance depends on 7 to 14 and coached lessons, casual play and rated events. Call before booking a place.

What ages or levels can join?

Our age groups are 7 to 14 and our class levels are beginner, intermediate and tournament. Call to confirm the right group before booking.

When and where do classes meet?

The class schedule is Tue and Thu 4:30pm to 6pm, Sat 10am to noon. Classes meet at the community room on the second floor. Confirm your time and meeting point before traveling.

Can we try a class before buying a package?

The first-class or trial offer is at no charge. Ask what it includes, whether a fee applies and how to reserve it.

How much do classes cost, and can I cancel?

Prices are $12 a class; packages are a 10-week term card. Cancellation and makeup terms are a credit for the next session with 24 hours notice. Confirm the terms before paying.

How do I book and discuss access or allergies?

A parent or guardian should call, text or email to book. Do not send children’s personal information through a web form. Tell us about allergies by phone. Ask for the waiver: the form at our front desk.
